pair of spoons, silver serving, 1892-1898
Title
pair of spoons, silver serving, 1892-1898
Description
A pair of matching serving spoons owned by the Hutter family. The back silver stamp reads “Rogers & Bros A1 9". Rogers & Bros was founded in 1858 and bought by the International Silver co in 1898. These spoons don’t have an "IS" following the Rogers & Bros stamp which dates it before 1898,when International Silver bought the company. A1 means the piece is silver-plated and there are two ounces of silver in it. The pattern is a monogrammed version of the “Belle” pattern which was first produced in 1892 so this spoon was produced between 1892-1898.
