Beverly Roy Scott - b. January 11, 1796, d. June 3, 1837. According to Campbell Chronicles and Family Sketches by Ruth Hairston Early "He was an officer on board the Caroline when it was blown up near New Orleans during the war with Great Britain and escaped by jumping overboard and swimming to shore. He afterwards fought under Gen. Jackson int he memorable battle of New Orleans on Jany. 8, 1815: and lost a leg in that battle."
Scott is buried in the Scott Family Cemetery, Lynchburg, Virginia
