candlestick, sterling silver weighted, date unknown

Subject

A silver candlestick owned by the Hutter family. The bottom hallmark reads "Sterling Weighted". This means that the outer shell is made of sterling silver and the inside is filled with a heavy non metal substance to allow the candlestick to stand more easily and cost less to produce. The candlestick has an engraved decorative band towards the top of the shaft of the candle stick.
