Fork, silver pastry, date unknown
Title
Fork, silver pastry, date unknown
Description
This is a pastry fork owned by the Hutter family, also called a cake fork or a pie fork. The left tine is wider than the other three in order to cut through the dessert. This one is a larger right handed pastry fork so that the server can hold the cake plate in their right hand and cut through and serve the cake with their right. There is a monogram "H" engraved on the front of the handle. The back hallmark is worn off but "Jas_____yer Co." can still be read.
